Institutionalizing Single-family Homes

The opportunity for institutionalizing ownership of single-family homes is huge, says Starwood Waypoint’s Colin Wiel, given the huge percentage of properties still held by “mom and pop” investors. He is particularly bullish on the Atlanta and Chicago housing markets, but says it’s hard to make investments in Phoenix and California stack up, given current yields.
