Tim Clayton

Tim Clayton is a Managing Director and Operating Partner of Z Capital. Clayton is a member of the Private Equity Investment/Operations Team and assists in the management and oversight of portfolio company initiatives including, but not limited to, financial analysis, financial reporting, mergers & acquisitions, tax, and audit across all portfolio companies. Clayton serves on the boards of Mrs. Fields Famous Brands, LLC, Neways Holdings, Ltd., and Real Mex Restaurants, and previously served on the board of MSDP Group, LLC., all of which are or were Z Capital portfolio companies. Clayton’s nearly 40 years of business experience represents a unique blend of financial, operational and strategic leadership activities across a wide variety of industries. Clayton has gained this experience working as a member of, or as a trusted advisor to, senior management teams. While this experience has included both large, multi-national corporations and smaller enterprises, Clayton has primarily focused on middle market companies in the business services, retail/consumer products, distribution and financial services sectors. His experience includes addressing the unique challenges that face both rapidly growing companies as well as companies that are in need of turnaround or transformational management.
