More than 180 delegates gathered at Privcap Game Change: Consumer & Retail 2016 in New York—a mix of C-level executives from innovative, consumer-facing businesses and partners at private equity and venture capital firms.

One theme that resonated throughout the event was that the relationship between brand and customer is rapidly changing by way of marketing outreach, point-of-purchase experience, and demographic mix. Those companies that fail to adapt will atrophy and quickly lose market share to competitors, most of them privately backed, nimble, and armed with disruptive technologies and business plans.
