Alex Gilbert

President, Artemis Real Estate Partners,

Gilbert is the President of Artemis Real Estate Partners, LLC, a real estate investment firm that manages institutional, third party capital in a variety of real estate strategies. Gilbert is responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s real estate strategies with regard to acquisitions and asset management activities. He is responsible for the firm’s Investment Committee. Gilbert joined Artemis in February 2011 and is based in metropolitan Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining Artemis, Gilbert spent 17 years in real estate principal investing, investment banking and the real estate service business. His recent experience includes AllianceBernstein and the J.E. Robert Companies ("JER"). At JER, Gilbert was a Managing Director and from 2003 to 2007 was primarily responsible for acquisitions and asset management of the firm's U.S. platform investments, joint ventures and individual assets. In 2008, Gilbert was selected to Head of the U.S. Fund business which included three equity funds, a debt vehicle and more than $8 billion in assets across a broad spectrum of property types throughout the U.S.

Prior to joining JER, Gilbert developed extensive real estate experience having worked on office development projects and running a division of Jones Lang LaSalle's New York Leasing and Management Group (more than 6 million square feet). In addition, he was a real estate investment banker at Morgan Stanley and a principal investor through joint ventures with William E. Simon and Sons in Los Angeles, California.

Gilbert is a member of the Urban Land Institute and a Founding Director of the United States Air Force Academy Endowment.
