Sean Bannon
Managing Director, Zurich Alternative Asset Management
Bannon has more than 22 years of experience in the commercial real estate investment industry in the United States. He is currently responsible for Zurich’s U.S. Real Estate businesses, and is based in New York, where he serves as a voting member on the investment committee of Zurich Alternative Asset Management, LLC, the firm’s alternative investment platform dedicated to hedge fund, private equity, and U.S. real estate investment.
Bannon joined Zurich in 1997 to help launch the firm’s U.S. direct-acquisition platform using various forms of insurance and reinsurance products. In 2004 he helped launch the U.S. real estate private equity fund-of-funds program. In 2010 and 2011, he authored the firm’s new core direct real estate investment strategy, which focuses on office, multifamily, retail, and industrial asset types in 13 major U.S. real estate markets. Bannon currently runs that acquisition strategy.
Previously, he was with Lehman Brothers and the real estate services group of Arthur Andersen. He holds a B.S. from Fairfield University, and an MBA from Columbia University. Bannon is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.
