Private Equity in 2012: More Light or More Tunnel?

What does the year 2012 have in store for global private equity? This important question was posed to four private equity luminaries during a December 7 Privcap event called “Private Equity in 2012: More Light or More Tunnel.” This video of the fascinating conversation that ensued will be of interest to anyone with an interest in the future of private equity and the global economy in which private equity firms hunt for investment opportunities.

The assembled experts include: George Siguler, Managing Director & Founding Partner of Siguler Guff; Russell Steenberg, Managing Director and Global Head of BlackRock Private Equity Partners; Adam Max, Managing Principal of The Jordan Company and Anthony Tutrone, Managing Director and Global Head of NB Alternatives at Neuberger Berman.

The panel discussion was moderated by Privcap co-founder David Snow and introduced by Franci Blassberg, a partner at law firm Debevoise & Plimpton. A special thanks to Debevoise & Plimpton for hosting the event.

Topics of discussion include: The core challenges for private equity firms in 2012, what economic indicators private equity investors will need to watch next year, how the fundraising market will change the private equity industry, new sources of capital for the asset class and what the hot-spot cities will be for private equity in 2012 (hint – a popular airport code will PEK).
