From Basement to Ballroom: History of the IFC’s Big PE Event

From the IFC’s basement conference room to The Ritz-Carlton, the Global Private Equity Conference, hosted by IFC and EMPEA, has come a long way.  According to David Wilton, Chief Investment Officer for Global Private Equity at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the conference has gained attention and has grown into an event private equity professionals with an interest in the developing world cannot miss. Starting in 2000, the conference was the first of its kind – focusing on the ever-evolving landscape of emerging markets.
